Interpret Europe membership terms and conditions
These terms and conditions govern your membership with Interpret Europe – European Association for Heritage Interpretation e.V. (IE). By submitting your membership application, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
Membership application
By submitting the membership application form, you formally request membership with Interpret Europe. An authorised representative of Interpret Europe will review and approve the application.
Membership fees and payment
- Membership fees are billed annually, with payment required by the end of January each calendar year.
- Members must pay a fee when they join and then again at the start of each subsequent year.
- Membership is not granted until the fee is paid. The General Assembly determines the membership fee amounts, which can be found on the website for each membership type. https://interpret-europe.net/individual-membership-2/
Payment methods
- PayPal/Credit Card: If you choose to pay via PayPal or credit card, the payment subscription will be created and your account will be automatically debited for the annual membership fee in the subsequent years. You have the option to manually cancel the recurring subscription through your PayPal or credit card provider and renew it manually the following year.
- Bank Transfer: If you choose to pay via bank transfer or request to be invoiced, an invoice will be issued, and membership will be approved after IE receives the payment.
Membership termination
- Termination notice: You may notify us in writing at any time if you wish to terminate your membership.
- Effective termination date: All membership terminations become effective at the end of the calendar year, regardless of when the notification is received.
- No refund: No refund of membership fees will be payable.
Data privacy
Your contact details may only be shared with other Interpret Europe members. We will not share your data outside the Interpret Europe network.
Refund policy
- General policy: Refunds for membership fees are generally not granted.
- Extraordinary circumstances: In extraordinary circumstances that demonstrably prevented a member from canceling their membership in a timely manner, a special refund request may be submitted to the Management.
- Refund request requirements: The refund request must:
Clearly outline the extraordinary circumstances.
Provide supporting documentation, if available. - Refund request evaluation: The refund request will be evaluated by special committee, whose decision will be final.
Membership benefits
- Membership directory and map: Members will be listed in the Interpret Europe directory and map, unless they opt out.
- Reduced conference fees: Members are eligible for reduced conference fees.
- IE member certification: on website: If you possess any IE certificates, they will be featured on your member profile on the Interpret Europe website.
- Benefits are valid if membership is paid.
Effective date
These terms and conditions are effective as of February 10, 2025.
