Course handbook for trainers

This guide (updated in January 2026) ensures a smooth training process and correct membership administration.

1. Before the course

Ensure course visibility and verify the membership status of all participants.

  • First step: The trainer completes the online Pre-course questionnaire. Once approved by the Training Team (Dubravko Fujicko for CIG, Janja Sivec for CIW, Valya Stergioti for CIP), the Membership Care Manager assigns a course number (i.e. 260101).
  • Web announcement: After the number is assigned, the course is published on the IE website.
  • IE membership:
    • Option A (Collective payments – group accounts): The trainer submits the list of the participants’ names, emails and countries. Based on this list, IE issues a collective payment request. Participants then receive a link to set up their membership without having to pay. For these participants, an “Entry individual – course participant” membership will be created. The trainer can track the payment status directly from their profile on IE’s website.
    • Option B (Participants pay individually): Participants are required to apply for IE membership as Individual members. The trainer, in coordination with the Membership Care Manager, provides instructions on how to fill out the application and pay.
  • One week before the course begins: The trainer sends the final list of names and emails to the Membership Care Manager.
  • Final confirmation: The Membership Care Manager confirms all participants are active IE members and gives the “green light” for the course to start. If this step is completed in time, the trainer receives the course’s attendance list.

2. During the course

Focus on teaching and collecting necessary documentation.

  • Attendance List: All participants must sign the list and indicate their consent/non-consent for photos/videos following the GDPR.
  • Course End: The trainer may distribute informal confirmations of attendance/participation to the participants (optional).

3. After the course

Evaluation of homework and certification.

  • Within one week after the course: The trainer completes the Post-course questionnaire for trainers. The signed attendance list is part of this form.
  • Course evaluation: Participants receive a link to the evaluation form. Filling the form is not a prerequisite for certification, but it helps collect valuable feedback.
  • Homework: The participants must submit their assignments within 12 months after the end of the course.
  • Certificate request: Once a participant meets all requirements, the trainer informs the Membership Care Manager, also copying training@interpret-europe.net
  • Final verification: The Membership Care Manager verifies whether the participant is an active IE member, if the payment has been made, and no cancellation has been reported.
  • Certificate dispatch and announcement: The Membership Care Manager sends out the certificate and prepares a list of the newly certified participants for the website and the upcoming IE newsletter.
